GoodNEWS 18-mo Follow-up Measurement Event is a 4-day healthtapemeasure screening event to conduct follow-up measures for GoodNEWS Trial participants first measured in Sept/Oct 2008. In the GoodNEWS Trial, team members at UT Southwestern Medical Center partner directly with area congregations in order to promote healthful living practices in the Southern Sector of Dallas. We want to see whether our collaboration so far is helping to reduce risk factors for chronic disease in our participants. This is a great opportunity to make a positive impact on the health of our community. Come out and join the GoodNEWS team in making a difference!

We need volunteers in the following areas:

  • blood pressure
  • questionnaire assistance
  • blood tests
  • questionnaire interviews
  • height/weight/waist circumference
  • registration/check-out/greeters/logistics

You will receive standard training, light snacks, a volunteer T-shirt and certificate as a thank you for your time.

Volunteer requirements:

You are required to sign up for at least one day in order to volunteer, and must stay for the entire day(s) you choose to participate.  You will be required to complete online training in human subjects protections and HIPAA research and an in-person 1-2 hr training session at UTSW before your first assigned day.
